How roller shades work
Roller shades are designed for simple day to day use. To lower the shade, insert the crank handle into the crank eye and turn the handle. The shade will drop vertically and can be rolled down to the required length.
Once the shade is down, grab the lightweight bottom bar, lift it into position, and clip it onto the padeyes. These attachment points hold the shade securely in place. The crank handle can then be used again to gently tension the shade so it sits taut.
It is important not to over tighten the shade, as this can place stress on the fabric or hardware.
To retract the shade, insert the crank handle into the crank eye, release the bottom bar clips from the padeyes, then slowly guide the bottom bar down while turning the crank handle in the reverse direction. The shade can then roll up fully until it is stowed away.
