Shockingly, New Zealand has the highest incidence of melanoma in the world, with more than 6,000 diagnoses and tragically around 300 Kiwis losing their lives to this cancer every year.
Melanoma is almost always preventable, making it vital for us to understand the sun's effects on adults and our tamariki. By promoting sun awareness and UV protection, we aim to empower everyone to make informed choices about their sun exposure.
Helping grow sun safety knowledge in our children, Melanoma New Zealand runs the yearly Get Spotted campaign. We are so proud to be a part of this – and providing the major prize: a Lidgard Shade Sail designed and constructed by us for the lucky winning school. So encourage your local school or early learning centre to get involved and be in to win!
